Welcome

Capt Peter Turner, and his Yacht Asolare have joined “World ARC 2010” staged by World Cruising Club. Having started in St Lucia on January 6th our journey will take us through the Panama Canal across the Pacific Ocean and give us the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful islands on the planet.

Asolare is an Amel 54 twin masted ketch and carries a suit of sails that includes an asymetric spinaker, a number of headsails, mainsails for both the main and mizzen masts and unusually a mizzen ballooner which is a very effective spinaker for the mizzen mast.

Peter and his daughter Sallyanne first sailed the ARC in 2004, being joined by crew to sail again in ARC 2007 and most recently in ARC 2009.   The Daily Log Archive provides a humorous account of the highs lows and drama’s of both the 2007 & 2009 crossings and makes for a good read!

We are very much looking forward to sailing with many friends and family during the course of World ARC, for those who would like to follow our progress we will be updating this website with our latest logs and pictures of our ventures throughout the year – so keep looking!
